Difficult weekend for the LCR E-Team in Assen

LCR E-Team riders Mattia Casadei and Eric Granado have experienced one of the most demanding weekends of the season at Assen.

Feeling good and having the potential to fight for the podium, both LCR E-riders couldnā€™t finish the first race in the morning after clashing with rivals. In race two, when it was time to recover from that situation, Casadei didnā€™t feel good on the bike as track conditions were critical and crossed the line 8th, controlling the situation and avoiding mistakes. Brazilian teammate Eric Granado, who had to undergo a long lap penalty, finished 12th, grabbing points.
To look at the bright side, Mattia Casadei is still the leader of the MotoE standings.

“Today has been difficult: this morning, another rival made me crash, and I could not even finish the first lap. Not having gathered information on race one, things were demanding in the afternoon on the second race. We couldn’t be competitive; I could not ride to the limit and push, as it was risky. We are already focused on the next races, as we’ll try again!”

ā€œI felt good on the bike and was fighting for the podium in race one when a contact with another rival made me end up on gravel, and I couldnā€™t reach my goal. After this incident, they gave a long lap penalty for the second race, and then, I could only fight for the maximum points possible. This is part of racing; weā€™ll try again on the next raceā€.
