Challenging Saturday for the LCR E-Team in Assen
LCR E-Team riders Mattia Casadei and Eric Granado faced a tough Saturday at Assen.
- Mattia Casadei started race 1 from pole position and took a commanding lead, maintaining the front until a crash on the final lap dashed his hopes. Meanwhile, teammate Eric Granado secured a strong 7th-place finish.
- Because the crash occurred under yellow flag conditions, Casadei was penalised and had to serve a double long lap penalty in race 2.
- Determined, Casadei battled back fiercely in the afternoon race. Despite the penalty setback, he pushed hard and finished in 6th place.
- Eric Granado, despite ongoing leg pain, showed remarkable resilience and consistency by finishing race 2 once again in 7th place, demonstrating strength, solid performance, and excellent management throughout.

Race 1 – 7th | Race 2 – 7th
“It wasn’t our best weekend, but considering the circumstances and the demands of this track, finishing both races with a solid performance is a positive outcome. As I’m still recovering, I felt a lot of pain, and the sharp turns of this circuit made it even more challenging. I gave my best to achieve the maximum possible result, and we learned a lot on track. Many thanks to the team for their hard work, we’ll push even harder at the next round!”

Race 1 – DNF | Race 2 – 6th
“Starting from pole position, my goal was to fight for the victory or at least secure a podium. Unfortunately, today just wasn’t our day. I was on the verge of winning Race 1 when I crashed, unfortunately, it happened under a yellow flag. As a result, I received a double long-lap penalty for Race 2, which affected my chances of a podium finish in the afternoon. Despite that, I managed to score solid points. It wasn’t the weekend we had hoped for, but I want to sincerely thank the team for all their hard work. We’ll come back stronger!”
