PONS CLASSIFIED P3 AND GRANADO P8 AT RACE 2 OF THE ITALIAN ROUND

It was an exciting yet dramatic second race at the Tuscan track on Sunday for the LCR E-Team. Pons was promoted to 3rd after an exhaustive revision done by the FIM Stewads. Brazilian rider Eric Granado classified 8th.

Starting 9th on the grid, LCR E-Team rider Miquel Pons produced an outstanding comeback and was fighting for the top positions throughout the race but unfortunately, he was overtaken just before crossing the checkered flag in 4th position.

Eric Granado, had qualified 4th on Friday, he did a good start but lost some positions due to Mattia Casadei’s crash at the very beginning of the race and was unable to recover. He finished the race in 7thposition but got demoted to 8th.

The changes of position applied by Race Direction due to yellow flag penalties leave the team with a bittersweat taste as Miquel Pons missed the parc fermé and Podium but classified 3rd and Granado lost one position.

Join the team for the next round of the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup at the historic TT Circuit Assen right before the MotoGP summer break, June 24-26.
