MIXED DAY FOR LCR E-TEAM RACERS IN JEREZ

It was a day of contrasting fortunes for the LCR E-Team riders Niccolò Canepa and Xavier Simeon in Jerez.

The grid for tomorrow’s MotoE race, the first event in the 2020 FIM Enel MotoE World Cup, was decided by an exciting E-pole shootout.

The day started well for the LCR squad, with both riders finishing in the top 10 in today’s Free Practice 3, Niccolò ending up in an excellent 3rd and Xavier Simeon, 6th.

During the e-pole session they both admitted making slight mistakes, which in Canepa’s case resulted in a big spill at the fast turn 11, but fortunately he suffered no injuries.

The Belgian rider Simeon, meanwhile, will start from the second row of the grid tomorrow in 6th, whilst Niccolò Canepa did not set a time, so will start from the last row. Both riders have expectations of making forward progress, and are determined to finish higher up the field.
